Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mastura Badzis

Early Childhood Development
& Education Specialist

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mastura Badzis held her doctorate from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom in Child Development and Education. She has seventeen years of experience researching and training and passionate in early childhood development and education, educational psychology, parenting and children with special needs. Among her collaborative projects are with PERMATA NEGARA, Tokyo University, Japan and a university in Oman. She is currently an academician at the Kuliyyah of Education, International Islamic University Malaysia. She has also contributed articles and inputs for Berita Harian, international conferences and government institutions.


Prof. Dr. Norimah A. Karim

Nutrition & Maternal
Child Health Specialist

Prof. Dr. Norimah A. Karim is a Professor of Human Nutrition, and had served 35 years in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, spearheading various active roles including the Nutrition Society of Malaysia. She earned her bachelor degree in Biology and her masters degree in Nutrition from the Indiana University, Bloomington, USA. She then furthered her doctoral degree in Nutrition from the University of Southampton, UK. Her research expertise includes dietary assessment methods, in particular developing and validating food frequency questionnaire, public health nutrition, community nutrition, body image and development of nutrition education packages. After her retirement from UKM in February 2020, she embarked on a new role as Professor in Nutrition at the International Medical University in November 2020, amidst the pandemic.


Ms. Poh Kai Ling


Ms. Poh Kai Ling is an experienced Dietitian with a demonstrated history of working and consulting in the hospital & healthcare industry. She earns a degree in Dietetic from Universiti Sains Malaysia and currently working at a semi-private hospital in Kuala Lumpur. On a weekly basis, she consults and counsell pregnant mothers with gestational diabetes mellitus and those with diabetes before pregnancy, patients particularly children who are picky eaters, obese, underweight or having failure to thrive (FTT).


Dr. Tan Chong Seong

Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

Dr. Tan Chong Seong is an O&G consultant and fertility expert practicing at Malaysia’s leading fertility center. He has been actively involved in management of high risk pregnancy and gynecological cases, and holds special interest in reproductive medicine and minimally invasive surgery. He has also been teaching medical students and training house officers, medical officers and postgraduate students. He was appointed as Honorary Lecturer for International Medical University (IMU) and MAHSA University. He regularly attends international and local conferences to stay abreast with the latest developments in reproductive medicine while working as a volunteer and offers free services for the underprivileged and refugees.


Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lihanna Borhan

Developmental Psychologist

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lihanna Borhan pursued her postgraduate studies in Psychology at the University of Chicago, USA and have more than 25 years of experience in various activities. Her expertise include; Developmental Psychology; Educational Psychology; Early Childhood Education, and Quality in Higher Education. She is keen in exploring family interaction, pedagogical approaches, aspects of self and learner engagement. She is currently the Director of the Office of Knowledge for Change and Advancement (KCA), International Islamic University Malaysia.


Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Aidil Arafat


Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Aidil Arafat bin Dzulkarnain obtained his degree in Bachelor of Audiology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and earned his doctorate degree from the University of Queensland, Australia in 2008. He has thirteen years of experience and substantive research in the area of auditory neurophysiology, specifically in the auditory evoked responses (AER). His recent research is concerning evaluation of sound-cognitive and emotional therapy intervention using AER test among patients with special needs such as autism (ASD) and hyperactivity (ADHD). He is currently spearheading as the Deputy Dean of Postgraduate and Research of Kuliyyah of Allied Health Sciences, IIUM.


Asst. Prof. Dr. Asrar Abu Bakar


Asst. Prof. Dr. Asrar Abu Bakar graduated from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom and earned his doctoral degree from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, United Kingdom. He was practicing as a Paediatrician in the United Kingdom for 13 years before he returned to Malaysia and serves at the International Islamic University Malaysia, Kuantan. His specialization includes paediatric infectious disease, vaccinology, vaccination during childhood, pneumococcal surveillance studies and the impact of vaccines.
